Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation procedures

What is non-ablative laser skin resurfacing and how does it work?

Rejuvenation without laser ablationis a skin rejuvenation process with laser energy without damaging the epidermis.

In this case, the laser energy is converted to heat energy. Controlled heat stimulation stimulates the extracellular matrix and triggers collagen formation.

By interacting with the water molecules contained in the skin cells, the radiation has a tonic and regenerative effect on the skin and initiates its rejuvenation process.

The water content in the epidermis is approximately 10-15%, in the inner layer of the skin more - 70-75%. Due to this, during non-ablative laser rejuvenation procedures, the effect of radiation on the epidermis is minimal.

Passing through the manipulator, the laser beam is divided into microbeams in the form of a grid and forms closed coagulation columns in the inner layer of the skin, located at the same distance from each other. During the session, the skin cells around the column are exposed to heat, which activates metabolism and promotes cell rejuvenation. Old cells are destroyed, replaced by new ones, which is possible to achievelifting effect. Skin gains elasticity, even tone, looks younger.

Indications and contraindications

Non-ablative laser rejuvenation procedures are suitable for:

  • elimination of visible age-related changes in the skin - wrinkles, folds, sagging, dryness;
  • removal of age spots;
  • skin improvement;
  • keloid scar correction;
  • against acne, etc.

Laser rejuvenation is not performed if the patient has any of the following contraindications:

  • oncological diseases;
  • inflammatory process on the skin;
  • exacerbation of chronic diseases;
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • immune deficiency, etc.

The decision to perform a laser rejuvenation procedure is made by a specialist after examining the patient.

How is non-ablative laser rejuvenation performed?

Before the session, the skin in the treated area is cleaned, in some cases exfoliation is performed. Cosmetologists use a laser beam on the surface of the skin in problem areas, bringing the manipulator closer to the skin.

During the session, the skin does not experience discomfort, thanks to the cooling system built into the manipulator. Because of this, laser rejuvenation does not require additional anesthesia of the treatment area.

Session results

After 1-2 days after the laser treatment, the condition of the skin improves significantly. It acquires an even and fresh shade, lost elasticity returns, small wrinkles and age spots gradually disappear. Active rejuvenation of skin cells has a tonic and tightening effect, which makes the patient look 5-10 years younger.

In terms of effectiveness, the procedure is in no way inferior to the results of plastic surgery. Safety, the lack of surgical intervention and the recovery period after surgery make this method very popular among women and men.
